Volunteer
Pitch in when you can.
Volunteers help us care for the shared garden property and build and maintain the infrastructure that makes the garden possible.
Volunteer projects may include:
Preparing and improving the garden site
Building or repairing beds, pathways, fencing, and other infrastructure
Spreading mulch, moving soil, and general cleanup
Helping with planting or maintenance of shared garden areas
Assisting with work days, special projects, and community events
Volunteering is a great option if you want to support the garden without committing to your own plot.
Member/Gardener
Grow something of your own.
Garden members are neighbors who make an ongoing commitment to the garden and rent an individual growing plot for the season.
Your plot is your space to grow vegetables, herbs, fruit, flowers, or other approved plants for your own household, friends and neighbors, or simply for the joy of growing.
Members are also part of the larger garden community. In addition to maintaining their own plots, gardeners may occasionally be asked to help care for shared spaces and participate in garden work days.
No gardening experience is required. We hope the garden can be a place where experienced gardeners and first-time growers learn from one another.
Garden Manager
Help the garden grow as a community resource.
Garden Managers are a small group of volunteers who take on a more active role in caring for and coordinating the garden as a whole.
Depending on their interests and availability, Garden Managers may help:
Coordinate garden maintenance and infrastructure projects
Organize and communicate with volunteers
Welcome new gardeners and help orient members
Provide garden tours for neighbors and visitors
Coordinate community work days
Help plan workshops, gatherings, and other garden events
Identify maintenance needs and help keep shared spaces functioning well
Support the long-term planning and stewardship of the garden
You don’t need to do all of these things. We’re looking for a small team of people with different skills and interests who can share responsibility for keeping the garden healthy, welcoming, and active.
