Neighborhood Markers (“Sign Toppers”) Are Going Up!
We're thrilled to announce the installation of our custom-designed Neighborhood Markers throughout the Shaw Butte neighborhood! You may have already started to see these beautiful new signs, also known as "sign toppers," being placed on existing street signs at key entrances and intersections within our community.
This project has been a labor of love for the Shaw Butte Neighborhood Alliance, and we couldn't be more excited to see it come to fruition. These markers are more than just signs; they're a visual representation of our strong community identity and collective pride.
Why Neighborhood Markers?
The idea for these custom markers emerged from a desire to further unify our neighborhood and enhance our sense of place. Here's what they mean for us:
Enhanced Identity: These unique signs clearly define the boundaries of our wonderful Shaw Butte neighborhood, giving residents and visitors a strong sense of where they are.

Block Watch Visibility: For our Block Watch efforts, these markers serve as a subtle but important reminder that we are an organized and watchful community, deterring potential issues and promoting safety. They reinforce the message that Shaw Butte is a neighborhood that looks out for its own.
Welcome & Connection: They act as a warm welcome to those entering our streets and serve as a connecting point for neighbors within.
