Front Yard Friday is a simple, effective way to build a stronger sense of community right where we live.
What is Front Yard Friday?
Front Yard Friday is an all-inclusive, once-a-month neighborhood gathering held in a volunteer neighbor’s front yard.
- When: The Last Friday evening each month.
- Where: The front yard of a volunteer host in the Shaw Butte area.
- Who: All neighbors are welcome! Bring your family, kids, leashed pets, and a smile.
- How: Hosts simply open their space. Neighbors bring their own drinks and maybe a snack to share. That’s it! The goal is simply to get out, hang out, and connect.
Why Does Shaw Butte Need FYF?
Front Yard Friday turns the front yard into a community hub, making our neighborhood more friendly and secure.
- Know Your Neighbors: Move beyond a quick wave and start a real conversation. The better we know each other, the stronger our community becomes.
- Welcome Newcomers: FYF is the best way to introduce new residents to the Shaw Butte family.
- Build Relationships: Casual interaction builds trust, making it easier to share information, look out for one another, and collaborate on neighborhood improvements.
