Residents must register to claim their trees using the Official Tree Request Form before 09/19/2025.

No, SBNA has applied on behalf of the neighborhood—you only need to register using the request form to claim your trees.

Your home is still eligible, the City of Phoenix just needs to verify permission to plant with the landlord or property owner.
Complete the request form with your information, then email your landlord’s name, phone number, and email address to trees@shawbuttephx.org.

No, the City of Phoenix will coordinate with 811/Call Before You Dig and plant the trees for you.
You only need to mark where you want the trees to be planted.

Unfortunately, no. Trees can only be planted within your property lines in the front yard.
While the goal of the program is to increase the tree canopy throughout the neighborhood, one of the additional objectives is to create as much public benefit as possible (shading sidewalks, cooling streets, etc.).

Planting is anticipated in Fall 2025.

The deadline to register and select your tree species is 09/19/2025.
A kickoff event/celebration will be held in October 2025. Final date TBD.

The program offers a wide variety of drought tolerant and/or native tree species to choose from.

SBNA has been awarded 200 trees.
