Grant Award: Love Your Block 2026
We are excited to announce that our application for the City of Phoenix “Love Your Block” 2026 grant opportunity—proposing an update to the perimeter landscaping for Shaw Butte Elementary School was selected for funding!
The Love Your Block Grant supports projects which develop and build neighborhood capacity by funding projects that benefit the community. Projects that include a sustainability and water conservation element are encouraged.
Our project will beautify the school’s campus and our neighborhood by:
re-grading the landscape areas along sidewalks to retain stormwater and prevent washout of landscaping material onto sidewalks
adding shade trees & vegetation to disrupt the effects of the heat island effect
installing steel edging and targeted sections of varied landscape gravel to improve aesthetics without significant additional water needs or landscape maintenance
